Scovel, Ill. History

Scovel is a station and post office on the Kankakee
and Minonk branch of the Illinois Central Railroad, at the junction of this
road and the Wabash. It is twelve miles east of Pontiac,
and one and one-half mile from Saunemin, the nearest
banking point. The annual shipments of grain shipments from this station are
about 60,000 bushels of corn and 40,000 bushels of oats
