Mrs. Sarah Ann Neifing,
widow of the late John Neifing, for many years residents o this city,
died at 1:50 a.m. today at her home, 1034 E. Howard St.
Funeral services will be held at 2
p.m. Monday from the First Baptist church, of which the deceased long had been
a member. Services will be conducted by Rev. Marion Tharp, pastor
of the Baptist church, burial will occur in South Side cemetery. Friends
may call at the Raleigh J. Harris funeral home, 413 N. Main St.
Mrs. Neifing, nee Sarah Ann Blue
was born in Rooks Creek Township, Sept. 29, 1854, the daughter of Benjamin
and Elisabeth (Johnson) Blue, pioneer settlers of that township. Her
education was received in the vicinity of her birth. She was married to John
Neifing at Minonk, who preceded his wife in death March, 1919.
Mrs. Neifing is survived by four
sons: John, of Esmen Township; Hal, of Wichita, KS; Harvey
of Chicago, and Earsel of Pontiac. She is also survived by a
brother and two sisters, Harvey Blue, of Ottawa; Mrs. Oliver Bennett,
of Flanagan, and Mrs. Clara Algoe, of Ft. Dodge, IA., and nine
grandchildren. She is preceded in death by five children, Laura, Roy,
Ernest and William and an infant.
