Sudden death of Mrs.
Thomas B. East
Dies from
inflammation of the throat. Operation to relieve from suffocation
unavailing.
Mrs.
Thomas B. (Caroline) East died at her home on North Hazel St., at noon today of
inflammation of the throat, she having been ill but about a week. Mrs. East was
operated on this morning. Suffocation being imminent, as a last resort a tube
was placed in her throat in order that she might breathe. The operation failed
to give the desired relief. She died at noon.
Carrie Headlock (sic) East
was born in 1847 on what is known as the old Headlock (sic) farm, 4 miles west
of this city, in Rooks Creek twp., she being among the first born children of
Livingston County and was at the time of her death 56 years old. She leaves
besides her husband, 4 children, Roy, Lois, Abiad and Cora. The funeral will be
held Sun. at one o’clock, Rev. Simeon Jussey, officiating. The place of the
funeral will be announced later.
